Ike Kier
Partner, Co-Founder, Chief Executive Officer & Chairman of the Investment Committee

Ike Kier is the co-founder and CEO of KG Funds Management.

From 2004 to 2008 Ike created management groups which were responsible for 4 SPACs which raised collectively about $200 million from the public markets. All of the management teams completed their merger/purchase of their targets.

Ike's business experience includes serving on numerous boards and building two businesses, both of which went public: Lida Inc (formerly NASDAQ: LIDA) and eDiets (formerly NASDAQ: EDIET).

Ike took over as the CEO and majority owner of Lida Inc,, a family business, after practicing law.  He grew the Company from being a regional fabric supplier in North Carolina to the largest producer of cotton/lycra/spandex fabrics, supplying 55% of the world’s consumption and employing 700 when Lehman took them public in 1992. Ike sold the business to a New York based LBO firm, in 1995.

eDiets was founded in Florida to help people tailor diet plans on the internet. Ike discovered the company, raised capital as the lead investor and served on the company’s board. The business grew to become one of the largest sellers of diet programs over the internet. The company went public through a reverse merger using Lida’s public listing and was subsequently bought by a private equity firm.

Between 1987-9, Ike participated in the cellular spectrum provider lotteries run by the FCC.  He applied for 400 markets and eventually received the I-85 corridor between Montgomery, AL and Atlanta, GA. He held the rights for 2 years, and then negotiated a sale of his spectrum rights to the surrounding providers who were already encroaching on his territory. The sale of his rights brought him earnings of over 100 times his original investment.

Ike earned a J.D. from George Washington University and a B.A. in Economics from Cornell University.
